To assist the prefectural and municipal promotion work and make full use of intermediary agencies to attract investment, Zhejiang International Investment Promotion Center contacted and organized 28 representatives of over 15 international business institutions in Shanghai including ZDH, South East of England Regional Development Agency, the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, Chambre de commerce et d'industrie de Paris, OPORA Russia, etc. to pay an investigation visit to Shaoxing from 28th to 29th of March.
In the afternoon of March 28, the representatives attended the Cooperation and Communication Meeting of International Investment Promotion Institutions hosted by Shaoxing Investment Promotion Service Bureau at Shaoxing International Hotel. Yin Yongjie, the Deputy Mayor of Shaoxing City, the representative of Shaoxing Investment Promotion Service Bureau, the person in charge of Yuezhou New City Construction and Guidance Coordination Committee Office and the representative of Paojiang New Area respectively introduced the social and economic development situation and investment environment of Shaoxing in the recent years, the planning situation of Jiaxing-Shaoxing River-Crossing Bridge of Hangzhou Bay and Yuezhou New City as well as the investment environment of Paojiang New Area at the meeting.
The representatives of international business institutions in Shanghai made a field trip to Paojiang New Area and Paojiang Connection Line of Jiaxing-Shaoxing River-Crossing Bridge of Hangzhou Bay under planning after the meeting.
With the investigation of one day and a half, the representatives got a general idea of urban living environment and industry advantages of Shaoxing and the growing location advantages, as the Shanghai-Hangzhou-Ningbo Light Rail and Jiaxing-Shaoxing River-Crossing Bridge of Hangzhou Bay are both under construction. The representatives expressed that this kind of investigation activity was helpful for an in-depth sight of Zhejiang as well as the first-hand investment information, and they hoped to have more such chances from then on. The Chief Representative of Shanghai Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Association of Russia believed that this investigation was very helpful for them to carry out its work and they would organize enterprises to come to Shaoxing for investigation and investment. The American International Chamber of Commerce also expressed the intention to introduce American high-tech enterprises to Shaoxing private enterprises for discussion about cooperation.
The Asia and Europe Investment Promotion Department of the Promotion Center also dispatched staff for this investigation, and will follow up the implementation of cooperation intentions.
