The reporter learned that recently, the first port logistics center invested in China by AMB company, the global No.2 logistics and real estate developer, started to break ground. According to industrial insiders’ analysis, after the world-class tycoons of logistics like Prologis, Maresk, etc. entered in Beilun, this is another world top-500 enterprise forestalling Beilun, and it marks that Beilun is now becoming a new battlefield contested by more and more international logistics capitals.
As the main collection and distribution point of Ningbo – Zhoushan Port, the throughput of Beilun Port is growing fast and the logistics industry now faces the significant opportunities. The Principal Logistics Park of Beilun under construction is known to be the “one principal” out of “one principal and five subs” of Ningbo, Zhejiang, which covers a total area of 2500 Mu. It is a modern international logistics industry park integrated with international storage, international distribution, commodities exhibition, etc. and when it is completed, the annual throughput of container is expected to reach two million TEU.
The relevant person in charge of Ningbo Port and Shipping Administrative Bureau stated that the transportation network construction of port collection and distribution plays an important role in the development of logistics; thus, the regional transportation planning of this district is readjusted to speed up the formation of port-district linked, convenient and quick system of logistic and transportation. “We are going to regard the modern logistics industry as an important breakthrough in developing the service industry; we are going to build a hub city of modern logistics center by construction of “one principal and five subs” logistics park.”
Besides, this district will also cultivate and bring in logistics enterprises both inside and outside of the district to join in; it is building the logistics distribution center over the province as well as the goods collection and distribution point on the southern wing of Yangtze River Delta through the gathering of materials flow, capital flow and information flow. Meanwhile, this district is promoting the whole image of district logistics industry by bringing in international giants of logistics.
It is reported that in the recent two years, this district has brought in 23 logistics projects including Lloyd Triestino. The total investment has reached 755,000,000 USD and there are over 260 logistics storage and transportation enterprises as well as other enterprises relevant to logistics.
